Utilizing Unreal Engine 5's Niagara system I created a black hole style visual effect. The goal was to create something similar to the Destiny 2's void warlock nova bomb. I utilize a center orb, added a streaks material, the central vortex material, the cloud ring which looks like material is being pulled toward the center orb, and the explosion material which pushes particles away from the center. Through user parameters, each piece of the full visual effect can be recolored.









Shaders


Utilizing Unreal Engine 5, I created a ghost material shader. The original idea was something similar to the invaders from the Dark Souls' games, but with an elemental scrolling smoke within the material. Once created, I created an instance of the material with user parameters for color and textures. The user parameters allow colors and textures to be changed.
